Josh and I met at Faith Heritage High school when I was in 8th grade and he was in 7th grade. We knew of each other for many years and then when we were older, we both decided to run cross country🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️. We became good friends the last two years we were in high school, but then...we forgot about each other for two years 😂.

I went to college first, and then he did a year later. We did not stay in contact until we happened to be at a little reunion party 🎉 and started talking. We both remember having a really good time talking to each other so we set a date for me to come visit him at Syracuse University. He told me he'd give me a tour of campus 👀.

I had so much fun hanging out with him and I told all my friends 👭, BUT I didn't think of him as anything more than a friend, and he saw me the same way.

We didn't talk for a few months, but then summer ☀️ rolled around and we started hanging out in groups with each other. I remember having such a good time with him and thinking "I need to date a guy like Josh , I need to date a guy like Josh". I remember one day I was looking at him and thought "...wait, why don't I just date Josh?".

I started crushing on him a little and I'd look forward to seeing him at events. We spent a lot of time together because we were in the same friend group. We slowing just started hanging out more and more, and soon we were hanging out one on one. I remember the first time we hung out we got Chipotle 🌯 and walked up to watch the sunset over Syracuse while we ate. Then we walked around campus for hours. That is what drew us together so much - the fact that we can talk for hours 🗣️.

We both liked each other at this point, and it was my last day before going to school. I hung out with Josh for over 12 hours that day and at the end of the day I figured he'd say something...you know?

Nope.

The next time I had a break at college, I came home and we went to the fair 🎡 . We got up early and spent the whole day together. This totaled out to 16 hours! He still did not say anything, and I went back to school.

I had to come home the following weekend, and I needed to address the elephant 🐘 EVENTUALLY. So, I formulated this text with my friends: "Do you want to talk about it 👀 ", and to this he replied, "Yes".

When I saw him in person we talked about everything but that. I was about to call it quits ❌, give up on him❌, and go home❌. I told him that I needed to go, and THEN that's when he says "ooooh didn't you want to talk about something?"....and then there was hours of talking about all the unsaid.

I got up to go and he says:

"So do you want to be my girlfriend?", and I said "yes". *He daps me up*🤝

"Do you want to be exclusive?", and I said "Yes". *He daps me up again* 🤝, and says "word".

....and that is our story 😂 ❤️
